3rd Sustainable Clothing Workshop: Update

The environmental footprint of our clothing is significant. It takes around 2,700 litres of water, for example, to make a single cotton-t-shirt.

To help leading brands and retailers improve their sustainability, Circular Ecology and partners are running a third Business Leaders’ workshop on Thursday 5 November at M&S’s London office. Dr Stephen Allen of Circular Ecology will chair the event.

Following the popularity of previous events, this event will feature guest talks on the Modern Slavery Act and the monitoring of energy and water in the supply chain. Attendees will also discuss how best to engage internal colleagues (such as designers, buyers and marketeers) on improving sustainability, to support action across a company.

About our Business Leaders’ Workshops

Our workshops are hosted by a consortium of SRS Sustainable Business, Circular Ecology, the University of Leeds School of Design, Wellington Green and Anthesis-LRS. The events provide an opportunity for senior sustainability professionals to meet peers to and discuss current issues. We aim to create a relaxed but professional environment in which attendees can learn and contribute to interesting and balanced discussion. The purpose is to deliver change and identify areas where interested parties can work collaboratively for mutual gain.
