Circular Ecology Launch COVID-19 Fundraiser for Businesses

Circular Ecology

UPDATE: This fund raiser completed on 30th June 2020. A total of £4,075 was raised from our video training courses. It was donated to the WHO covid-19 response fund. We donated it through the Google fund raiser, who top up the donations (up to their threshold). It could therefore have contributed over £12,000. A massive thank you to the participants.

COVID-19 is the most significant challenge of our time. To help support the fight back against this pandemic, Circular Ecology are launching a fundraiser for businesses to support the vital work of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Below you will find two products (video training courses & tree planting), where 85-100% of the income will be donated to the WHO COVID-19 Response fund.

These are aimed at businesses that would like to help with the pandemic and are lucky enough to still have spare budget; particularly as the end of financial year approaches.

Both products are at fair market rates, where for example, the tree planting is just £1 a tree. These will allow a large percentage of funds to be diverted to the WHO and their vital work, through the World Health Organisation COVID-19 response fund.  We will also gladly provide proof of the donation to the WHO response fund.

The products offered as part of this fund COVID-19 raiser are:

  • Tree planting – See more on our separate Offset My Life website to produce the tree planting
    • The packages are £1 a tree
    • All trees planted through our tree planting partner
    • Also feel free to contact us

To confirm, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the WHO COVID-19 Response fund (see frequently asked questions further below). The remaining costs will cover the tree planting, payment processing, and foreign currency exchange fees. No other costs will be deducted.

If these products are not of interest but you wish to discuss further, please feel free to get in touch.

If you are reading as an individual, please note that the above products are aimed at businesses, you will be better placed making a donation to the WHO response fund. There are several fund-raising campaigns with matched donations, such as from Facebook and Google.

However, if the online video training courses on carbon footprinting, life cycle assessment and embodied carbon will be of benefit to you as an individual, we will gladly provide you with complimentary access to the courses. We just ask that a donation is made to the WHO response fund.

We have no doubt that together, we can make a difference.

Best wishes,
Circular Ecology

This fund-raiser is running until 30th June 2020

Frequently Asked Questions

Why video training courses and tree planting?

We wanted to offer products where as much as possible can be diverted to the WHO COVID-19 response fund. We already offer online video training courses and arrange tree planting. These were the two products that we could divert the most income to the WHO response fund.

How much will be donated to the WHO COVID-19 response fund?

For the online training courses, we will donate all funds that we receive, after payment processing fees have been deducted.

For UK bank transfers (e.g. no payment processing fees), we will donate 100% of funds we receive (ex. VAT if applicable).

For sales on our online store, this will be somewhere around 97% of the income (excluding VAT income, where applicable). Remaining costs to cover payment processing fees.

For tree planting, we will donate all funds that remain after the costs of planting the trees (including foreign currency exchange fees).

Can’t businesses just donate directly to the COVID-19 fund?

Yes, any business can donate directly to the WHO fund. However, most organisations have strict rules and budgets on procurement of products, services and donations. The products we offer as part of this fund raiser will allow businesses to use any existing budget, for example that they may have already allocated for environmental services, in the fight against the pandemic. The pricing of the video training courses and tree planting are fair market prices.

Can you provide proof of donation to the WHO fund?

Yes, we will gladly provide proof of donation to the WHO fund.

Can we pay online by card?

Yes. For video training courses, see our training course store page.

For tree planting, this is arranged through our separate website, Offset My Life.

Can we pay by bank transfer?

Yes. Please contact us with details of what you would like to procure and we will provide an invoice with bank transfer details.

Can you provide an invoice?

A full VAT invoice will be provided to all businesses.

How long do I have to take the video training courses?

Access is provided for 1 year. Although we regularly extend access if useful.

What is the WHO COVID-19 response fund?

The Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund is a secure way for individuals, philanthropies and businesses to contribute to the WHO-led effort to respond to the pandemic.

The United Nations Foundation and the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation have created the solidarity fund to support WHO and partners in a massive effort to help countries prevent, detect, and manage the novel coronavirus – particularly those where the needs are the greatest.

The fund will enable them to:

  • Send essential supplies such as personal protective equipment to frontline health workers
  • Enable all countries to track and detect the disease by boosting laboratory capacity through training and equipment.
  • Ensure health workers and communities everywhere have access to the latest science-based information to protect themselves, prevent infection and care for those in need.
  • Accelerate efforts to fast-track the discovery and development of lifesaving vaccines, diagnostics and treatments

Can I contribute as an individual?

The packages are aimed at businesses. You will be better placed making a donation to the WHO response fund. There are several fund-raising campaigns with matched donations, such as from Facebook and Google.

However, if the online video training courses on carbon footprinting, life cycle assessment and embodied carbon, will be of benefit to you as an individual, we will gladly provide you with complimentary access to the courses. We just ask that a donation is made to the WHO response fund.
